FAQ

Why are you manufacturing clothes in Europe and not in China or other countries?

There is a misconception that Southeast Asia produces the same quality products with same standards as European factories, only cheaper. The low price you pay today takes away the future benefits of the workers who made your clothing.
Next time you pay a premium for Outdoor clothing that is made in Europe, you pay for fair wages and good living standards. You also pay for long lasting quality and not having to buy a new T-Shirt every month. Finally, you pay for sustainability and contribute to saving the environment for future generations. A day will come when someone will pay you back!

What are the benefits of Thermowave merino?

Thermowave merino wool is incredibly lightweight, soft, not itchy, won't make you feel sweaty, keeps you warm when it's cold, and cool when it's hot. Plus, it has an amazing ability to fend off unpleasant odors.

Can you wear merino wool in summer?

It might sound surprising, but merino wool is actually one of the most comfortable fabrics to wear in the summer. Wondering why? Well, the remarkably fine and lightweight fibers of merino wool have the ability to pull moisture away from your skin and let it evaporate into the air. This unique quality helps to keep you cool and comfortable even in hot weather.

How do you get the merino wool?

All of our wool comes from Australia and New Zealand. A typical Thermowave Merino station covers about 1 hectare and supports about 5000 to 15 000 Merino sheep. All of our growers are mandated to abide a strict requirement that all wool in our products must be non-mulesed.

Should thermals be tight or loose?

When it comes to thermal base layers, it is essential that they are fitted rather than loose. This ensures optimal effectiveness, as a fitted base layer prevents cold air from finding its way through any gaps between the fabric and your skin.
